1969 Omega Seamaster De Ville “Technical Dial”, Ref. LL6287-1, Cal. 563, Genesee Bank Engraved

Omega’s Seamaster De Ville line was always about refinement, but certain dials took that further, and there's nothing better than the rabbit hole that leads to them. Here we have the so-called “technical dial” with an exacting second/minute track and bold applied batons which were for more than just beauty. They were about control, precision, and confidence.

This mid 1960s example reference LL6287-1 is one of those rarities. Featuring a gold-tone satin dial that glows with a warm, subtle sheen which exudes an understated yet bold presence. Paired with the automatic Omega cal. 563 and housed in a 10k gold-filled monobloc front-loading case (try saying that twice) it’s a clean, reliable daily classic with more beneath the surface.

Flip the case over, and the true soul of the watch reveals itself in a way that others simply cannot: Engraved to Lyle Larobardiere-Genesee Bank, 25 Years, 1946–1971.

Lyle wasn’t just a banker. He was a WWII veteran who served under General George S. Patton and later worked in the same bank as his father for decades. This watch was likely a retirement gift, a mark of both service and legacy. At Secondhand Elegancy, we don’t just admire clean design, we admire where that design has been. Watches like this are history you can wear with pride and this De Ville is the complete package. Rarity, humble provenance, and bold wrist presence.

Condition Notes

•Original “technical” dial is near perfect, with all printing intact and no visible damage, a clean, well-preserved example.

•Under magnification, there is a faint trace of what appears to be aged epoxy residue at 12 o’clock, but this is not visible to the naked eye and does not detract from overall presentation.

•Crystal is original and signed with integrated cyclops magnifier meaning the magnifier is flush and does not protrude outward.

•Retains original Omega crown.

•Case shows light gold plate loss at the edges of the lugs, consistent with age and typical for gold-filled examples. Otherwise, the case presents clean with strong lines and no major dents or wear-through.

•Movement has unknown service history but is currently running strong and keeping time.
