My collecting journey began a decade ago with modern watches, but it wasn’t until I picked up my first vintage piece about a year ago that everything changed. There was something about the character, the history, and the imperfections that made this “old” watch feel alive in my hands. That curiosity quickly turned into obsession.

Not long after, I found myself in a vintage watch forum, deep in conversation with a few other collectors. One profile picture stood out, it looked eerily familiar. Turns out, he had the same thought about mine. We messaged each other and realized we had worked side by side in the ER during the height of the COVID pandemic. Somehow, fate had reconnected us through vintage watches.

From that point forward, we were hooked…trading stories, sourcing pieces, and sharing knowledge. He had been collecting since childhood. I was just starting to fall down the rabbit hole. We realized two things. One, we were buying way too many watches, and two, it was heartbreaking to see great pieces just sitting unused or poorly listed online.

That’s why we created Secondhand Elegancy. This business started as a passion project between two ER colleagues who reconnected through a shared love for horology. Every watch is hand picked, inspected, and often serviced in house with the goal of finding it the right next home.

We don’t treat these watches like inventory. They’re functional art, each with its own soul. Our aim is to bring you pieces that still carry the design language, craftsmanship, and elegance that defined an era.

A 50+ year old watch shouldn’t feel outdated, it should feel timeless. That’s what we mean by elegance that never ages.
